I have 2 VHF radios as a repeater set at 25W. Not one lick of trouble out of them. When the temp dropped down to -30f they kept right on working.

let me first say that MTC Radio has the best price and quickest shipping for this radio as opposed to Ebay or anywhere else. I bougt this radio for commercial radio use, (Volunteer fire service. The software and drivers were easy to install with windows 7, read the directions carefully. This radio receives from two counties away with a standard magnet mount antenna. All in all, i highly recommend this radio and purchase from mtc radio, thier price is the best.

I bought this radio because I can use it for the ham bands and as a volunteer fire fighter, the public safety bands. You can't find a yaesu, kenwood or icom that can do that. Some vertexes and other public safety radios do offer the ham band but they are three times the price of this radio. I am disappointed with the audio. But, for the money, overall it was a great radio. I had to use a few youtube videos to help with programming. I couldn't get the software to work.

I gave this 4 stars only because I just installed it and have not gotten a chance to use it yet. It came boxed fine, installed fine, programmed easily. Appears to be what I need.

The TYT radios in my book are better then the big names in every way. I have 5 uhf and 2 vhf when I need to replace radios I am going with the TYT. You get a lot of radio for your dollar.
