    Just an all around incredible radio! Awesome Kenmore transmit audio! The receive is everything you could hope for. I never knew how useful a scope could be. Get the matching speaker (SP-890)! On a side note, I bought the first one on 22nd of November 2019 as a Christmas gift for myself but the wife said I had to wait until Christmas Day to open it. Well as life goes I didn’t get to put it into service until 1 January 2020 only to find out that the “touch” function of the touchscreen was inop. Called MTC and they said that since it was past 30 days from purchase it would be up to Kenwood on how to proceed. So MTC gave me the number to Leo at Kenwood and he said he would OK a swap by MTC rather than waiting on Kenwood to repair it. That is the best customer service you could ask for by both MTC and “Kenmore” and why I do enjoy all my Kenmore radios! Buy one and buy it from MTC! God bless.

    I just got the radio a few days ago but I am, so far, very impressed with it's performance. It has a LOT of capabilities that I have yet to utilize and am looking forward to doing so. The appearance, quality and ergonomics are top tier and it should provide a lot of enjoyment in the future.
    MTC was / is wonderful to deal with and I would not hesitate to do so again.

    I have been a ham since 1966 and have owned all kinds of rigs. I thought my Ten Tec Orion and Icom 7300 were great rigs, and they are. But the Kenwood 890 is in a class by itself. Receive and transmit functions are nothing short of fantastic. Band scope is beautiful and very functional. I frankly can't imagine ever needing another rig. Best ham purchase I have ever made. And MTC is the best dealer I have ever dealt with.

    I am very happy with my purchase. Radio is a tank. Build quality is excellent. All the knobs and buttons are solid and feel well made. Performance is stellar. It has plenty of connectivity and is a great addition to any shack. Screen is large and has great resolution. If you are interested in this model you will not be disappointed. Kenwood did a wonderful job with this model. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment. MTC shipped fast and I will definitely be purchasing from them again.

    Very fine transceiver. Easy to operate, all function controls available using knobs and buttons; no need to use the touch screen (I hate touch screens). Great display with a very accurate and quick responding panadapter. Transmit audio quality equal to or better than any rig I have previously used (including AM). Even though the rig utilizes superhetrodyne architecture, the panadapter uses superior SDR technology. Better than my IC-7700 and approaching the receive performance of my Flex 6600M and Anan 200D (best receiver of the bunch). I waited a long time to find a Kenwood transceiver better than the old reliable TS-940AT and finally found it. It would have been nice if the power supply had been built in and had 200 watt transmit capability, but that would have driven up the cost. Lots of features I haven't explored yet. A definite keeper!
