I purchased the Wouxum antenna adapter to tie the Alinco DJ-500T into my Uhf/Vhf antenna feed line to increase the range of the hand held. Same with the MTC DX1 Antenna as a regular on the DJ-500T when ooperating portable. The results are as expected, able to work repeaters 30 to 40 miles away with 5 watts.

I have over 50 of these radios that we use during search and rescue operations, and they work great. We are able to put a radio on a frequency and lock the keys so the searchers can't change the channel and we never miss a call.
